Summer is great!

The past one week had been an interesting one as I explored a few places in Singapore where I seldom or had never set foot on.

Chinatown/Kreta Ayer
4 June 2006

Mommy was feeling bored at home so she suggested that we go to Chinatown. Don't ask me why Chinatown out of so many places. Mommy always do things without a reason. She just wanted to go there. Period.

After we have parked the car at People's Park, we went up to the second storey where all the shops are. It doesn't look as cluttered as before, but it was observed that the shops are smaller and there are also not as many shops as there were before the upgrading. There are also lesser textile shops now. Instead, there are more fashion boutiques and shops selling accessories. Other than these, retail chains like E2 and basic beauty are also found there. Nothing much to rave about though.

From People's Park, we walked over to Pearl Plaza. We saw Ho Kee and decided to try the dim sum since daddy recommended it. There was only a table big enough for the three of us at the end of the shop. One of the waitresses was showing us in when a woman just walked past us and sat at that table. She was alone and there was another table somewhere else where she could sit alone but she just had to sit there. I was very angry and remarked loudly that I was leaving since there was no place for us. The waitress tried to reason with that woman but she just wouldn't budge. ArGh~! Just then, some customers left the shop and there was an empty table for us. I wanted to leave but daddy and mommy stopped me. We ordered some siew mai, chicken feet, chee cheong fan, yu jiao and char siew pau while that woman only ordered some egg tarts. WTH! What did you need such a big table for when you only ordered egg tarts?! Idiot. The dim sum was not too bad though. Love the char siew pau. Yummy! Will definitely go back again, but I will not eat there again. Will order takeaways instead.

The char siew pau is very soft and does not have a bitter taste. The fillings are sweet and there is a lot of char siew sauce. It is the perfect snack as it is small and not too filling.

Price: $0.70 each.

Holland Village
5 June 2006

WeiQi and I decided to visit Holland Village on Monday as we were both very bored at home. Met her at SSC where she had an appointment. We took bus service 7 from Park Mall and reached Holland Village after a 20 minutes bus ride.

The first thing we did while we were there was to look for the legendary windmill. We found it and our involuntary reaction was to whip out our camera phones and start snapping. HaHa~!

The famous Holland Village windmill.

After we have completed our mission, we embarked on our journey to source out the famous Holland Village nasi lemak. We finally found it after searching the whole of Holland Village. Found it in the Holland Village food court. Not sure if it is authentic but it sure tastes good.

I ordered sambal long beans, anchovies in chilli and chicken cutlet. The sides were delicious. I love the anchovies in chilli. Reminds me of my childhood. Haven't eaten that for ages. The chilli was very nice and appetising. It is also sweet and not too spicy. I couldn't get enough of it! The rice was fragrant and not too oily. Will definitely go back for more!

Price: $3 for the above combination.

We went to SaSa after lunch, where I bought a pedicure set, an eyeshadow brush and an eyelash curler.

Went to Aesop to have a look after SaSa. Didn't anything there though.

We left Holland Village after spending about 2 hours there. It isn't as big as what we thought it is.

Life's like that

Been some time since I last blogged. Firstly, I must apologise to my readers for being MIA for so long. Much has happened during this time. Had been wanting to blog about all that has happened but I wasn't in the mood to do so. Felt kinda 'empty' today so I decided to blog.

There was a one week break after the Statistics 1 paper. The break was meant to be a time for us to study for the last two papers, PBF and IBM. Both papers were to be taken on the same day, 25 May 2006. As usual, I did not start my revision until the eve. =X Please pray for me.

Spent most of the time with Clarence instead. We met for a movie at J8 on last Monday evening. Watched Over The Hedge. Cute! HeE~! The movie ended quite late but he sent me home as promised and had to explain to his mom when he got home 'coz he was home later than he should. HaHa~! Met up with him again the following day after his work. He was supposed to go for a dinner with his family and relatives at Goodwood Park Hotel in the evening and his mom was going to pick him up. He suddenly sent me an SMS that day, to tell me that he would be going to the dinner himself and he wanted to meet me before that. Didn't wanna meet him 'coz I didn't want his mom to think that I am restricting her son, but he insisted on meeting me that day, so I just went to meet him at Sembawang before I go for tuition. Walked around the boring Sun Plaza and he met his supervisor. We spent a total of 40 minutes together before he had to go for the dinner. I was invited to go with him for the dinner, but I chose not to 'coz I felt that it was too early for me to meet his family. We met again after my examination on Thursday. I was there early and met Vinci, who was on his way to meet his financial planner. We chatted for a while before Clarence came. Clarence kept asking me about him after that. -_- He sent me home before he went home for dinner. How I wished the bus ride was longer, then I could lie on his shoulder for a longer time. HeE~!

Had some problems with my line and I wasn't able to receive any calls or SMS for the whole of Friday. I thought he was busy. Only realised there was a problem when I received some messages at night. Didn't receive some of them and didn't know that he was going to JB on Saturday. Misunderstood him again. Think the technical fault put a strain on our relationship. I was starting to feel scared when I didn't receive calls or messages from him again on Sunday. I was paranoid even after he called to explain later that night. SiGh~!

Went JB to do up my hair on Monday. Sat at the salon for 6 long hours. I look like a doll again! HeE~! Walked around the pasar malam after stepping out of the salon. Mommy wanted to buy some malay kueh-kueh. Haven't been to a pasar malam in Malaysia for a long long time.

Was supposed to meet Clarence at Causeway Point at 630PM but I was delayed at the customs due to the jam. Ended up being late for an hour. He was already complaining even before I left the checkpoint. That silly boy just refused to eat his dinner alone and insisted on waiting for me. When I finally reached Causeway Point, I found him standing outside Prima Deli with his heavy crumpler. Apparently he had been standing the whole time. -_- We went up to the food court to have dinner. Wanted to watch Poseidon after dinner but Cathay was undergoing renovations and there were only three movies to choose from, which we were not interested. Decided to go to Sembawang Park. We took the wrong bus and had to walk in. We finally reached the park after a long walk. Decided to go to Chong Pang for supper after a while. However, we took the wrong bus again. SiGh~! No mood for supper anymore. Decided to go home instead. When I reached home, I realised that my whole leg was full of mosquito bites! So itchy and ugly! The bites are still red and swollen now. SiGh~!

Spent the whole of Tuesday with my students. Charlene was throwing tantrums when I reached so I had Shermaine first. Had Charlene after a bit of coaxing. DaiYing was another problem that day. She got the whole holiday worksheet wrong! I had to erase all her answers and teach her how to do them again. SiGh~!

Went to Starhub at Plaza Singapura with HuiJun on Wednesday. Wanted to change my SIM card but couldn't do so 'coz I forgot that the line is not under my name and daddy wasn't around to authorise the change. We went shopping instead. Bought a t-shirt from M-industrie and two skirts from OP. Total damage, $66.

Went over to Jaslyn's place for tuition in the evening. I already kinda gave up on this girl. Just made her do some sums. No scoldings. Was very fed up with the mess though.

The girl I always hated teaching.

Had tuition with Geraldine early this morning. She hasn't woke up when I was there. Had to knock the door several times before her mom came to open the door. Had to coax her to sit still. Just like before.

Went to NUS with HuiJun for the tea session 'coz she was accepted to the NUS FASS Mother Tongue. Went there for the fun of it. The funny thing was, the lecturers all thought I was the potential student and HuiJun was there to accompany me while the truth is HuiJun was the one who is going to study there and I was just the visitor. HaHa~! Guess I will be going to NUS more often when the semester starts since HuiJun will be there. HeE~!

HuiJun and I at NUS today.

Went to Causeway Point to shop for a while before going home. Nothing much there. Starting to get sick of the place. SiAnZ~! As we went home quite early, I called Louis to change the time for tuition so that I could leave earlier. I made him do some work while I slacked all the way. HaHa~! Very lazy today.

I am coughing really badly. Almost coughed my lungs out today. *CoUgH cOuGh* I hate to be sick! The feeling is so terrible! SiGh~!
